Conventions of Digipaks
Digipaks for music CDs more often to not follow similar traits. These generic characteristics actual hold valid reasons why they exist and so commonly throughout the industry.
Visual images relevant to the product - To be more visually appealing and to reflect to mood and theme of the album.
Artist's name - In order to identify who created the music and link them to their other work.
Title - The name of the album or single on the main cover to differentiate it from the artists other work.
Track list - So the customer or owner can tell what songs are on the CD.
Blurb - Taken from books and DVD cases, used to provide background information on the artist and the album, sometimes written in casual tone to make it more personal the their fans.
Reviews - One of the least common, used to provide an idea of how well produced the music is and how it might rank.
Colour scheme - Used to give an insight to the mood of the album, for example darker colours would indicate sad or depressive themes.
Front panel - Contains the artist's and album's name as well as maybe reviews and always the main album cover, which consists of the artist and/or imagery and iconography relating to them.
Back panel - Containing the blurb, possibly reviews/more reviews and the track list. Text is always printed in colours that contrast the the background image so that they can be read clearly.
Spine - A byproduct of folding the album, utilised by writing the main title on it.
